1. Operator and acceptance
Club Path ("the platform") is operated by Lloyd Pollington ("we", "us"), an individual operator based in South Africa. By ticking the acceptance box or by using the platform, you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy & Data Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.
2. Eligibility and authorised access
Club Path is currently in private testing and access is limited to accounts we have expressly authorised. Public sign-up is closed. You may only use the platform if we have given you an account, and you may not attempt to create, share, or obtain access outside that process. Where junior members (under 18) are supported in future, a parent or legal guardian must consent before a junior account is created or claimed.
3. Accounts and security
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for activity that takes place under your account. Tell us immediately at info@clubpath.co.za if you suspect unauthorised access. We may require a password reset or suspend an account where we reasonably believe its security is compromised.
4. Permitted use
You may use Club Path to enter and administer golf competitions, capture and review scores, view leaderboards and results, and manage your own member and handicap information, in each case as permitted by your role on the platform.
5. Prohibited misuse
- Submitting false, altered, or deliberately misleading scores or scorecards.
- Accessing, copying, or exporting other members' personal information without authority.
- Attempting to bypass authentication, roles, access rules, or rate limits.
- Scraping, reverse engineering, or interfering with the platform or its infrastructure.
- Uploading unlawful, harmful, or infringing content.
6. Competition, score and handicap data
Club Path calculates and displays course handicaps, playing handicaps, differentials, net and Stableford results, and competition standings using the ratings and data available to it. These calculations and displays are provided to run and review club competitions. Where an official record exists — for example a handicap index maintained by the Handicap Network Africa / GolfRSA system, or a competition result formally confirmed by the club committee — that official record prevails over anything shown on the platform. Provisional or in-progress standings shown before a competition is finalised are not results.
7. Scorecard scanning and automated extraction
The platform can read photographed scorecards using automated extraction to suggest player names and hole scores. Automated extraction is assistive only, is not guaranteed to be accurate, and is always subject to review and confirmation by an authorised administrator before scores are treated as captured. You must keep your physical scorecard until the competition is finalised.
8. Intellectual property
The platform, its software, design, and branding belong to the operator. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the platform for its intended purpose. Data you submit remains yours; you grant us the right to process it as needed to run the service and as described in the Privacy & Data Policy.
9. Third-party services and integrations
Club Path relies on third-party providers, including cloud hosting and authentication, the club's tee-sheet/booking system, and automated scorecard reading services. Their availability and behaviour are outside our control, and their own terms may apply to their services.
10. Availability and changes
The platform is provided on a best-efforts basis and may be unavailable during maintenance, upgrades, or third-party outages. We may add, change, or remove features. We will give reasonable notice in-app of changes that materially affect how you use the platform.
11. Disclaimers
Except as required by South African law, the platform is provided "as is". We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation, or that every calculation, scan reading, import, or displayed standing is free of error. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2008 or POPIA that cannot lawfully be limited.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, or loss arising from competition outcomes, handicap adjustments, or data supplied by third parties. Nothing here excludes liability for gross negligence, fraud, or any liability that may not lawfully be excluded.
13. Indemnity
To the extent lawful, you indemnify us against claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your misuse of the platform or your breach of these terms.
14. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access where these terms are breached, where access was not authorised, or where suspension is needed to protect the platform or its users. You may stop using the platform at any time and ask us to close your account, subject to records we are required to keep (see the Privacy & Data Policy).
15. Privacy and POPIA
Our Privacy & Data Policy forms part of these terms and explains how we process personal information under POPIA. Our PAIA Manual explains how to request records.
16. Changes and versioning
These terms are versioned and dated. Where a new version materially changes your rights or obligations, we will ask you to accept it once when you next use the platform. Earlier acceptance records are retained.
17. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and the South African courts have jurisdiction over any dispute.
